Good off-white and firm head of foam over a clear amber brew with lively fine bubbles. Appetizing looks! Light hoppy aroma, with some fruitiness but otherwise rather neutral. Quite a mouthful of foamy body but without obvious flavor, refreshing enough but no depth, only a very slightly hoppy finish.

Dark reddish brown, clear, living beer with a fine and generous white head. Typical, rich, estery smell (fermentation), scent of coriander, balanced. Special malts, full mouthed, balanced, slightly bitter aftertaste.
Clear ruby-red brown with a medium sized fine bubbles beige head. Interesting sharpish fruit (green apples?), bananas, something spicy, burnt candy, malt and some yeasty aromas. Medium to large body. Stronger yeasty and malty, less sweet, more bitter, flavours that hide the higher alcohol content reasonably well. Lingering bitter dry finish. As others have said - its not all that well balanced and there are so many better ones out there.

Tan coloured head that was large and frothy at first but settled down very promptly. The colour of the body was dark red and clear. Some malt on the aroma along with some spice and raisins. Brown sugar in the taste as well as some fruit and a toasted malt flavour with light pepper on the finish. Some lacing was left in my glass at the end and I found it medium bodied with a long lasting finish.

Halloween 10.5° - 25 cl
   Add to basketBasket

Fluffy, cotton white foam with excellent stickiness. Lightly hazy amber shade. Assertive mushy, vegetal aroma. Underlying perfume, pine, acorn shell, corn stalk, coconut, pumpkin bread, yam, and a hint of stinky pale malt. Elegantly creamy, spongy palate from the bottle conditioning. Metallic tinge up front following by flavors of creamed malt, vanilla, soggy bread, and apricot. Finishes with a rounded hazelnut edge, lingering pale malt, and a vague earthiness from the oh so coarse, zesty hop textures. The pumpkin seems to complement the lightly spicy, bready flavors perfectly without overly exuding its characteristics.

Hercule 9°-1/3L

Yeast, caramel, acetic acid, apples and later plums and roast in the nose. The 9% tingles the throat. This is a unique beer with a homespun flavor. This bottle has a medium effervescence, is sharp and the malt deosn't stay on the tongue for long. Excellent mouthfeel however and parts with a fresh herbal feel in the apiole range. Rounds out as it warms. No fine particulates but plenty of yeast bodies. Very nice.
Beautiful thick black appearance with a darkish head that fades a little too fast. Nice hop bitterness with a wonderfully roasty flavor as well as some nice chocolate undertones. A wonderfully Belgian slant on a stout.

Dark brown in color. Plentiful, thick, long lasting head. Fruity, malty with a roasted, smooth taste.
Poured a dark beer with a huge head with super great retention. Aroma is comprised of a mix of spices and roastiness. The mix of spices and roastiness is also very present in the taste and very enjoyable and is also accompanied by strong hops. Body is quite strong with good carbonation. The alcohol is extremely subtle which is a plus when you have a 9% beer. Overall, this is another great beer from a very underrated brewery.

Very complex and wonderfully appetizing aroma in all departments...a genuine challenge and delight for the nose. Very clean and well-balanced...the crisp tartness works perfectly with the bitterness in this context...this is frighteningly quaffable, yet an exquisite sipping beer too. The body is average, but the creamy texture and well-hidden alcohol make up for that.

Nice cherry wood colour with a tiny white head.Lovely malty, hoppy aroma and a sweet slightly spicy taste & unlike some other belgian beers this one doesn`t have a massively bitter aftertaste.

La Dragonne 8.5° - 33 cl

Golden, slightly orange, beer, clear and well-carbonated; huge off-white head. Typical Van Steenberge mix of peppery spice, candi sugar and some citrus. Dry, slightly bitterish-spicey taste. Candi sugar, lots of malt underneath, giving a sweet finish. Dry and full-bodied, at the same time alcoholburn. Long dry-spicey aftertaste, no new flavours. We could say that it bears the ubiquitous Van Steenberge stamp. It’s no doubt more accurate to think of it as the umpteenth labelbeer from Ertvelde.

Blond beer with a small head. The aroma dominating herbal. The taste is light bitter. It is a very typical triple tasting beer but well balanced.
Peach-coloured, ochre head reducing itself to a half centimetre. Herbal, spicey (ginger, laurel, garden weeds) nose. Taste: this is what you call Band-aid? It certainly has a flavour as from a would liner - mint/camphor perhaps. Having said that, this taste is quite mild. Rest is more typical tripel. Dry-touch of candi sugar, and yeasty. Ending a bit more fruity/citrussy. Well bodied. Reasonable tripel. More surprising than most.

A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Good Ale. Nice balance of spice, fruit and hop flavor. Finishes with a nice clean crisp bitter taste.
